錦帯橋は1678年に3代藩主吉川広嘉により創建される。
その後、1950年のキジア台風で流出したが、当時の市民
の強い希望で1953年に再建。
老朽化と共に橋梁技術伝承の為に50年ぶりに架け替え
工事が行われ2004年に五橋すべて完成した。

Kintai bridge will be founded by the 3rd feudal lord Hiroyoshi
Kikkawa in 1678. Although it flowed out by the KIJIA typhoon
in 1950 after that, it will rebuild at a strong hope of a citizen
of those days in 1953. With superannuation, it constructed
again for the first time in 50 years for bridge technical
tradition, construction was performed, and it all completed
five bridge in 2004.
